In 2024, the city of Groningen is all about the event: Queer Year, hosted by national Pride Pink Saturday institute. For a whole year the city celebrates queerness (in the broadest sense). Queer year is all about celebrating smashing stereotypes. and bringing people together - connecting the past, present, and future, connecting individuals and communities, and bridging the gap between the city and the surrounding area. This brand is rebellious, yet clever. The challenge was to create a brand that reflects a fun-for-all event, yet taking a humorous approach to serious subjects. Inspiration was taken from the punk era, lating street festivals and sticker culture. These ingredients created a lighthearted and festive brand, with a slight rebellious spirit. - “Groningen sucks 🍌” - Queer Year 2024
